I just discovered 'soil moist granules,' the little beads that hold a ton of water. I won't use them on my food plants (although the manufacturer says I can) but I've been planting my flowers with them and it really cuts down on my watering! I love the have annuals around my house but, in the past, I often came home to find them droopy if I was away all day. I am hoping that these little water magnets will keep my flowers fresh and prolong the time between waterings!

ReplyDeleteOkay, from the little I know about gardening.....I use the new feeding bullets that just hit the market. They are awesome! Just push an inch into the ground and forget. Wonderful for potted plants. The number you need depends on the circumference of your pot, but it tells exactly how many on the back of the package.
Also, Prickly Pears do not need to be planted to grow. Ask me how I know this! LOL

Anyway, you wanted to get a garden tip. Hmm... My best advice is to love your plants -- to enjoy what you are creating. Over the years you will find out what works best -- but the most important thing to remember is to enjoy your garden! :)
